Over clocking is just boosting your clockspeed.

well how do I know how much to boost and what numbers are correct? I am actually new card so I want to check the performance of the 5570 by superclocking it.

Different cards have different Max clock speed.
Use the msi afterburner and speed up the core clock first.
Open a 3d app (games, benchmarking software) and look for artefacts
If you have artefacts, that means you're pushing too hard. You can fix this by increasing the core voltage
