Hi everyone,

Yesterday my local news-paper wrote a young teen died infront of his computer desk after playing too much game without rest. Well this news really freak me up becoz I spend most of the time using computer everyday. What I do is all related to computer, so I cannot live without the computer. I sleep late everyday too, but sometimes I just scared to be another victim like the guy in the news-paper. For those who doing something like me, please share with me your experience and how to avoid my PC becoming a killer machine . Thank you

Solution
At least every half hour - get up, take a break, get something to drink...go for a short walk.

Stretch out a bit (legs, arms, back), look outside (natural light).
Also don't drink too much caffeine when using the computer - caffeine + sitting body is not good. Water + light juice works well when using the computer, just don't spill :) !

Basically your body will let you know if you've used your computer too much. Aching muscles, dry throat, sore eyes, cramps...etc.

There are a lot of reports like this in China, and I think Korea where people will die from constantly gaming. The issue isn't the computer itself it tends to be when the person has been gaming straight for multiple days. As long as you don't sit in front of the computer and not rest for longer than a day you should be fine.

If you want to be safe make sure you go to sleep every night and don't attempt to pull something like a weekend pure gaming session with no sleep, consuming large amounts of energy drinks will also add to this problem. Take breaks and realize that everyone has a limit, recognize yours and keep control of your gaming habits.

One more thing - try to keep a good posture when using the computer. Do not slouch, sit up straight, try to keep your neck straight as well. Your screen should be about eye-level or slightly above to reduce strain on the eyes.

Thanks for the advice guys, from now on I will do some exercise every 30 min. I bought a cute little cactus plant and place it infornt of my PC, it will help to reduce the "radiation" coming out from my PC 😀

Wow, You are hardcore than me. I dont even smoke and drink lol

That's a pretty good idea :)

Another thing I find helps - I used to eat a lot of snacks (like chips, pop, chocolate bars) when I was using the computer (in my free time). I've cut those down and when I want a snack now I usually munch on an apple or a banana.

Apple's seem to perk up my innards with its refreshing taste - I like the macintosh red apples or the red-delicious ones. Bananas give me that long - lasting feeling in my stomach as well.

Hope all works out for you!
