I have an ASUS CUBX 400BX (BIOS rev. 1005) and a Genuine Intel Pentium III 600e. My video card is an ASUS V7100 (GeForce 2). I would like to try and overclock this PC. I have a GoldenOrb heatsink/fan as well as an industial 20,000 RPM fan mounted on my casing.
I have never overclocked, but would like to try and hit 700MHz to start.
Here's what I tried (i didn't work, but maybe you know where i went wrong):
DIP swtiches: 1-on 2-off 3-on 4-off 5-off 6-off 7-off 8-off 9-off 10-on
according to the manual this should give me a BusFrequency of 100MHz & a multiplier of 7.0x (=700MHz no?)
I did change the PEV (sp?) jumper to 1&2 (on) instead of 2&3 (automatic)... is this right?
I did not do any other changes. The machine booted by my ASUS Probe Utility said my CPU was still @ 600MHz.
What did I do wrong? In the BIOS I only have the choice of 400 & 600MHz (when PEV jumpers are on 2&3).
Any help is appreciated... Thanks in advance!
