amd athlon k7 600 running at 7, safe to go 800??
temp is nice and low 85deg.

as long as your temp stays reasonable and your comp stable i don't see why not. just a few minutes won't kill you (or it) just keep your eye on it for a while.

85 degrees? That's a nice sweet low temp!
Sure, give it a shot. Just make sure the heatsink is firmly mounted and give it a go for a little bit. Keep an eye on the temps and of course the stability of the system is up to you.
Some can deal with it hanging every 3 hours or so. I'm not one of them. :D

I assume you are OCing an Athlon Classic. My experience has been that 100-150 Mhz is about all your going to get (some get less). If you change your cache divider from 1/2 to 1/3 your chances of success @800 would be much greater. You will probably see a large change in the processor temp.. as you'll have to crank up the voltage. You may be one of the lucky ones who got a 800 or 850 that was downgraded to a 600 by AMD for boxstock purposes. You must have torn the casing off. What are the marked speeds of your cache RAM and Athlon?
