Xeon E5 1650 V2 (6 cores, 12 threads), overclocked to 4.2 Ghz on air (stable, tested with multiple stress testing programs)
Chinese X79 mobo (Machinist)
24 Gb memory (dual channel) - 2 x 8 Gb, 2 x 4 Gb. All 1600 Mhz
120 Gb M.2 - Windows 10 and some programs
Games on 500 Gb SSD and 2Tb hard drive
MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Gaming X 6G Graphics Card
The BIOS options on the motherboard are limited; however, I can force the memory to 1886. However, I have avoided this currently as I am reluctant to mess with the memory timings.
The PC is mainly used for gaming and runs all games at 1080p at 100+ FPS.
My question is would there be any gains, other than marginal, for overclocking the memory?
In other words, would anyone bother or just leave as is.
