i think i tried everything, but it didnt work. can anyone help? i'm new to overclocking

my specs are:

GA-G41MT-S2PT (rev. 2.0) (F2)
Core 2 Quad (currently running at slightly faster frequency (2.73 Ghz)
6GB Ram : 4gb + 2gb both running at 1066 mhz
Radeon HD 6850 Sapphire

That sounds pretty much exactly right. The G41 chipset lacks a strap that allows operation faster than ~341MHz (1365FSB), at least not without insanely high MCH/Northbridge voltages--and your board has no voltage adjustment for that so would require a hardware mod. 8 x 341 = 2728MHz

With such limited FSB, it's easiest to just toss in a CPU with a multiplier of 10 such as a cheap Q6700, or for 4MB more cache it was once very popular to modify something like the LGA771 Xeon X5470 to fit LGA775 (you can buy a premodded CPU to avoid modifying your socket, and someone has inserted the Xeon microcodes into your BIOS ). They will easily go to 3330 or 3412MHz on such a board. There was a time when the X5470 would've been too ridiculously expensive to waste running so close to stock speeds but it's under $30 now, even modded, while the Q6700 is $13
