Overclock to 4.4 ghz on 3770k and h100i problems

I am having some serious problems with my new build. I have a 3770kunder a h100i on a Maximus v formula. I have my Vcore at 1.25v and my clock at 4.4Ghz. From what ive heard i should be able to run the clock even higher and get a resonable temerature with the h100i yet even at these settings, i get 85 to 90 degrees celseuis at 100 percent load in prime 95. Please help I need to know if theres something im doing wrong or if i just have a really bad or maybe even deficent cpu.

most likely the heatsink on the h100i is not seated properly or did not have enough thermal paste applied and or something blocking contact from cpu to heatsink like plastic

Are you sure? Do I need to apple my own thermal paste because it looked like the h100i had some on it already. and either way, it seems like a very substantial difference.

well the preapplied stuff isnt terrible, most perfer to add their own for aftermarket coolers, but most likely its not seated properly and cooling to its best. or there is something blocking contact from the plate to the cpu. At this point I would take it off clean it and the cpu and apply new thermal paste and make sure its on properly
