Overclocked pentium g3258 or i3 4160?

idk which cpu to get and which mobo to get i wanna play games like bf4 and titanfall etc

was thinking about getting the g3258 with an asrock z97 anniversary mobo seeing how it can be overclocked to about 4.8 ghz

pentium doesnt support 1600 ram.. arguement has resolved itself

It's registering mine at 1600mhz soooo idk what you is talking about

I know this is an old thread but I'd like to share my experience. I have a machine for my son, a g3258 overclocked to 4.5 with a gtx 670. That machine is a beast . Absolutely no problems running games smoothly. It plays fallout 4 and doom which are games that use 4 cores no problem . I just built a machine with an i3 4370 and a Strix gtx 960 and there is no real difference. The g3258 machine was quite a bit cheaper and has the same performance as the i3 machine. Overclocked the g3258 is an awesome machine and I highly recommend anyone trying to build a budget machine to buy one. I have actually bought a few used g3258s cuz I like them to use In future builds.
