[SOLVED] Overclockers system vs Pc specialist

So i've put these 2 together. My budget is £850, so there's a whole lot of room for improvement, particularly in the Overclockers build. It seems much better value to me so far:

While OC'ing is & can be nice, I would hands down buy the 3600 system over the 2600 if those were my only choices. The 2600 is a nice CPU in its own right, but the 3600 is just much better. Couple that with the faster RAM and you'll have a beast. The 580 you have with the 3600 is slightly slower than the 590, but unless you could get a deal, not worth swapping the 2.

Whats the PC's main function gonna be? Gaming? Productivity?

Either way, you'll be happy, just happ(ier) with the 3600 system

Thanks, I could easily upgrade to the 3600 on the Overclockers and it would come in cheaper still by a fair bit. The only issue I have is that is the fastest 16gb Ram they have available for some reason. I was disappointed by that. I wanted the 3200 set at least.

Overall I use it for a mixture of browsing and gaming but the only reason I don't game as much now is because I don't really like gaming unless i can crank the graphics up to decent levels, which is hard now with my crusty 1050TI ^^. So at the moment I generally stick to games such as Civ 6 and Football Manager, but I'll def be on AAA titles when I have a system worthy of it.

For the first system with the 2600, how much more would it be to get a GTX 1660 or, more ideally, a GTX 1660 Super? There are a few models that are only a little more than the RX 590, and they perform better.

I did look at the comparisons and RX 590 was pretty much equal with the 1660 , and a bit cheaper https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1660-vs-AMD-RX-590/4038vs4033

I could definitely upgrade to the super, but as an average gamer am I going to notice that much difference for a fair bit more money?

Edit, having looked it possibly would be worth it but it's about £50 more and about 10%-15% better. About what I'd expect, but within my budget. Thankfully, I have a lot of wiggle room so that's definitely a good upgrade as far as I can tell. I could even bump the processor to a 3600 with no issues.

Well, part of the equation worth considering, in addition to average frames, is what the minimum frame rate is in each game with the different cards, which gives you a very approximate idea of how often it might dip below a desirable minimum. A side note, but one worth considering.

Added bonus is that you're talking a far lower power draw - TDP rating of about 125 for the 1660 Super, versus the 225 for the RX 590. The power bill may not be affected as dramatically as that difference makes it sound, but less total heat output from the GPU means less heat in the case to worry about, thus less work for your cooling system overall.

Looking on Ukgamingcomputers now and I think they're even better. Never heard of them tbh but they have great ratings.

I still have £100 odd to play with, and could upgrade to a GTX 2060 for another £80. Then again the case and PSU are pretty cheap, and I don't know anything about the case really. At least the PSU is Corsair, even if it's their bargain one. I'd also like to have at least 3200mhz RAM to make use of the Ryzen but I don't want to pass up on that free upgrade :/

Wait, the listing I'm seeing is showing RTX 2060 . . I'm not sure what you mean about "upgrading" to a GTX (?) 2060 for £80 more.

I don't know much about cases myself, so can't say much about it, but yeah, I'd definitely want a Seasonic Focus or a Corsair TX, TXm, RM, or RMx instead of the CX.

I would say, though, that you're unlikely to see much difference in gaming performance between 3000MHz and 3200MHz RAM. Maybe a few fps, if that.

Whoops, yes the build for £745 has a 1660 Super, and the upgrade is to a RTX 2060
