Overclocking advice AMD FX 8320 Processor

Hi all,

As you can imagine I'm a noob in regards to overclocking. I've recently purchased a new system (see link).

I'm wondering if I could overclock the processor, graphics card without damaging the machine.

If so, can anyone recommend software to use etc, is my PSU decent enough?

Unsure what power supply is in there. I would consider replacing that. As a lot of times prebuilts skimp on the psu. What kind of cooler is on the cpu?

Hey thanks for getting back to me. The PSU is: 500W Coolermaster

And cpu cooler X 2 air, Intel stock cooler

Not sure how far I'd trust the cooler master. Might be ok running stock speed. That system would not run the stock cooler on an amd box. If it's the stock amd cooler you'd want to replace that before overclocking.

Looking again, you'd better just leave it stock. Looks like they put an entry level board in there, not sure that the 760g board would handle overclocking that chip to well.

Cool thanks for you're answer. So you don't think it's worth trying to over clock with these machine?

Judging by the fact I'm not sure what power supply they put in it, that's one thing, also the 760g chipset is like the entry level for AMD. Nothing wrong with that, but when you start running 8 core cpu's on them that are more power hungry, and then try to overclock them to run faster and start putting more power draw through them than what they can handle, the board may decide to rebel on you.
