Overclocking Amd fx 6300

Hi guys! I am planning on overclocking my cpu soon whenever my two new case fans arrive.. as you may already know the fx 6300 is a 6 core cpu with a clock speed of 3.5 ghz. I don't want to strain my cpu as it performs alright for me but would like a slight performance upgrade. Would overclocking it to 3.7ghz or 3.8 ghz make much of a performance upgrade.. Also any tips on overclocking the Gigabyte r7 260x 2gb GDDR5 would be greatly appriciated! Thanks :-D

GPU Overclock? Follow standards procedures and you will be fine.

FX-6300 Overclock? 3.8Ghz is a peace of cake as long as you have a decent cooler like Hyper 212 evo or X.

GPU Overclock? Follow standards procedures and you will be fine.

Thats the thing.. i just have a stock cpu cooler but ordering two extra case fans so airflow will be a lot better.. will it be alright at 3.8 ghz I wonder, and will there be much of a perfomance increase?

Not a wise choice you have made. The case fans will barely help with the temps, unless your airflow is rubbish at the moment.

With that money you could have bought yourself a Hyper 212evo or X and gotten a much better overclock.

You need the case fans AND an aftermarket cooler. The stock cooler is garbage, don't overclock on it.

No, don't do that. Isopropyl alcohol 70% or higher only.
