Overclocking and resetting

So I recently started to overclock to boost performance out of my old cpu,core i3-530 with a Asus p7h55m board..I could manage 3.6 ghz at stock volt..with more volts, I have clocked till 4.07 ghz..I don't see any point crossing that barrier.Here's my concern..Is it safe to overclocked(say 3.6ghz) and then reset it back to default/stock frequently or rather set to a certain speed and keep it as it is..I am concern with longevity of processor and power consumption since I couldn't set the bios to increase or decrease the clock hertz as windows does at its default..

If you set that frequency in bios then it is Ok. You can keep if as it is and do your daily work. But watch your temps. If temps ate good then it is Ok.
