Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could give some tips for overclocking Core 2 CPUs. Yes, I know they are old, but I wanted to try overclocking for something fun to do.
So, this is what I have to work with:
XFX nVidia 680i LT Mobo
2 x 1gb DDR2 (Hynix generic ram, I have nVidia SLI ram available as well) @ 800 mHz
nVidia GT 210 1gb (I may use a 9500gt or Quadro FX 1800)
120gb IDE (ATA133) with Windows 7 Pro x64
Heavy(er) Intel Cooler
These are the processors I want to try:
C2D:
e8500 (SLB9K)
e6550 (SLA9X)
C2Q:
q6600
PD:
820 (SL8CP)
However, does anyone have any tips for this? I have overclocked before using SetFSB, but that was as far as I have ever gone (Hit 3.00gHz on that Q6600 in a Optiplex 960, somewhere on the forums)
