Overclocking from 1600Mhz to 1866Mhz

Hi, I just made my first build. I have an i7-3770K on an asrock z75 pro3 along with 2x4GB G-skill ripjaws X (1600MHz) . In my BIOS there is an option to set my RAM's frequency to various speeds. Would it really be as simple as that? will it be safe to OC my ram to 1866Mhz or even 2133Mhz? What softwares can i use to find my ram's stability before and after OC? and finally what are the factors which are of my concern during OC.

you can do memtests as you try to oc your RAM also you might want to add voltage because when you increase the frequency you'll need more power

i have never oc'd my ram before so i might not be the best person to ask just giving a little "intro" i guess

What's the model of your DRAM (actual model number), most good DRAM can OC at least a step i.e. 1600 to 1866 as an example....once I get your model number can show how

I bought two of these and this is what was written on hteir backs:
F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL (IN BOLD)
DDR3-1600 PC3-12800
4096MBx1
CL9-9-9-24 1.5V

You can try, wouldn't count on it as they are a paired set, but try 1866, 10-10-10-27, 1.575, and may need to raise the MC (memory controller) voltage a tad CPUVTT or VCCSA to about 1.13

Okay, so this would only work well if i increase my latency. Will it be worth it?

That would simply be the start, then if stable could try tightening the timings or drop the CR to 1

I have GSKILLS RIPJAWS, PC3 12800 1600Mhz 2x4gb set in a single channel on my ASROCK 990fx Extreme 9. How do I overclock to 1866Mhz? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can i OC it to 1866? my mobo is msi a68hm-e33 v2 and using a8-5600k.
