So I got a pretty good overclock on my Strix GTX 1080. I hit 1978 Mhz and in the Heaven Benchmark hit over 2.2K.

I have the AC version, not the OC version. My question is, if I got a pretty good overclock on this card, but added a second one in SLI that perhaps wasn't as good (ie, did not overclock as well as this one), would it slow down this card?

Thanks for the response,

Adam

If one card isnt a good overclocker than your system would be unstable . You would need to have both cards at the same speed and stable for it to work

no you have to manual set both cards. I use msi after burner for overclocking gpus. Also you can link cards so that settings are identical so you only have to set the speed one time

Thanks for the replies guys...

My initial idea was to eventually run two 1080's in SLI once this one started feeling it's age... However, I think I'd be better off sticking with the one card and when it gets too slow to run things how I want, replacing it with whatever high end card is out later on in life... :)
