Question Overclocking i7 3770K worth it?

Hello guys, I’m having a tough time deciding if it’s worth overclocking my PC (CPU and GPU)
I plan on getting a new PC in a year or two and been thinking since I’ve never done it before if it worth it since I mainly only game on it.
Got a Z77 extreme 4 motherboard
i7 3770K CPU
Palit gtx 1070 8gb GPU
16 gb of RAM
Mainly interested in the CPU overclocking and if it will bring any benefit in gaming.

OCing can offer some gains in performance, but also generate more heat and consume more power. It also adds stress to the system.

Your old rig is rather dated. Don't expect miracles or massive gains, regardless.
