Hi guys, I'm new to overclocking so would appreciate some advice.

I have a ENGA GTX 1070 SC and am trying to (unsuccessfully) get a meaningful overclock and think it may because it's already overclocked out of the box?

Using EVGA Precision I've been able to get it to +75MHz running at about 2025MHz. However, when I ran my base test, it was already running at 1949MHz so thats about a 3.8% increase.

Interestingly, when I turn on KBOOST it pushes the card to 1999MHz, which is the theoretical max, so is there any risk to running it at 2025MHz if it's stable?

So, demanding more frequency isn't going to necessarily wear down the card any faster.

You're not guaranteed an overclock unless you purchase it as a pre-binned product (aftermarket cards that are pre-overclocked)

Even base clock editions can be stuck at that base clock.

Anything above whatever the base clock for that specific card model (not what you got it at, but the stock settings from Nvidia) is considered an overclock.

If it is stable under load, then yeah you'll be good.
