Overclocking my fx-6300

Hi a would like to overclock my AMD FX 6300 to 4.0Ghz on a MSI 970 Gaming motherboard but a don't know how to do it a need a guide step by step how change the settings in the BIOS and what kind settings a should apply thank you very much fore your help.

I started overclocking not long ago and I can tell you that it is quite easy. The 6300 is a very OC capable CPU and the MSI 970 motherboard is also a great overclocker.

For overclocking, all I can tell you is that you should increase the multiplier in small increments until it is unstable, then you can begin upping the voltage until it is stable and increase from there.

There are a lot of overclocking guides out there and at the end it all depends on your chip for the overclock you can get but I hear many people can get from 4.2-4.6 with a 212 evo.

My cpu cooler is a thermoltake Nic F3 and it has 3 copier heat pipes is it a good anoth cooler?

It will likely be fine, just try to monitor temperatures- anything over 80oc during benchmarks should probably be considered a little too hot- go buy a hyper 212 evo for better cooling if you need it
