[SOLVED] overclocking non k processor

so i have got a xeon e3 1240 v2 i heard that i can get +400 mhz on any non k processor by changin Multiplier
so i can get from 3.8 ghz to 4.2 ghz
and what is the maximum safe bclk overclock that i can put also do i need to change anything like voltages ?

BCLK you really cannot go past 105, without issues. The multiplier is where you will get the most frequency gains. Your chip goes to 3.8ghz, on turbo, so setting the multiplier to 38 should be doable. You might get lucky and get to go a bit beyond that. I had an i5 2400 that went to 38, when it shouldn't have went beyond 34.

so 105 is the best safe setting for bclk i heard that any non k ivy or sandy bridge cpu can add 400 mhz to the Multiplier that means that i can change it from 38 to 42 is that true?
