Overclocking Question

People here suggest getting the 3000+ and oc it to 3400+ and better. Would a 3200+ be able to go higher, 3700+? Also should I care about the memory when I oc the processor. I am thinking about 1G DDR 3500 memory.

Also is a native 3700+ better than a oc 3200+ -> 3700+?

I do video editing among other things and would like the processor to be AFAP (as fast as possible). BTW, planning to use a MSI Neo Plat board.

Also what cooling do I need to get it oc higher for around $25.(budget !!)

I don't know my stuff with overclocking, I would make sure this post is in the overclocking section of the forums and hope that scotchen or whatever his name is gets on, he's knows his stuff with overclocking.

Get Crucial PC4000 and have the best of both worlds. The 3000+ overclocks easily. Generally speaking, the lower the multiplier the better the Buss overclock.

Ballistix PC4000 runs 2.5-3-3-8 at DDR500 by SPD. At DDR433 (PC3500 speed) it can run 2-2-2-5. So like Cybercraig said!
