Overclocking RAM 2400MHz

Hello guys,

I never overclocked before and I have few questions about it. I'm planning to get this RAM Corsair Vengeance Black 16GB (2x8GB) 2400MHz CL10 1.65V (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233353)
Motherboard: Asus VII Hero
PSU: Evga SuperNOVA NEX1000 80Plus Gold, modular - 1000W

I understand that I need to oc it so it could run at 2400, but putting 1.65V would be ok? Ain't it a bit high? And in order to oc memory should I oc CPU as well or I can leave it be? And should I increase CL when ram will be at 2400, to remove some tension?
Or this RAM is made to be run at 2400MHz 1.65V Timing 10-12-12-31 and it won't fail?

I would never oc my ram that high i highly doubt it will improve performance in any measurable way. the guy with 1600mhz ram will be getting the same performance as u without turning up voltages. overclock your cpu or gpu if u want to see a performance increase.

spd is 1333mhz / 9-9-9-24 / 1.5v . however corsair has tested it and it can perform at 2400Mhz / 10-12-12-31 / 1.65v though enabling xmp or manually setting these (overclocked) settings! before you do so, make sure your cpu is an unlocked (k) and overclocked and stable to accept such speeds! i dont think there is actually such high speed ram with 1.5v. if there is it will be extremelly expensive.

Yeah, I'm planning to get i5-4690k. I'm not planning to go extreme OC, then maybe I should go 2133MHz or 2000MHz, 1.6V and 10-11-11-32?

But I do need overclock my CPU before overclocking RAM or I can leave it with stock settings?

And one more thing, for 1600MHz I don't need to OC memory?

No my mobo will automatically detect the ram i have 1866mhz ram and my mobo set it to 1866mhz automatically so if your mobo and ram support 2133mhz without an overclock then it should set it to 2133mhz automatically.

My MB only detects 1333 and 1600 automatically, for higher value I need OC. But what about CPU? My biggest concern

BTW I've seen that G.Skill is considered to be good manufacturer for RAM, but I haven't found them on Latvian market at all 🙁 Corsair will be good enough?

up to 2133mhz you wont have to o/c the cpu. above that you will have to. maybe 4790k at stock speeds of 4-4.4ghz will be able to run 2400mhz but i cant confirm that.your mobo only detects 1333-1600mhz cause most ram modules spd(serial present detect) is at such speeds. as i said you will need to anable xmp or manually set the higher rated speeds!

I'll go 2000Mhz probably, should be enough. My concern was the CPU - I'm still learning all this OC things and right now I don't want to o/c my CPU, I need to get more knowledge about it.

I know its been 4 years but on my i5-4460 with XMP on i am at 2484mhz 1.65V and bclk 103.1 lol
