Will the gtx 970 strix reach 1500+Mhz eventhough it only has 1x8pin socket?

Also will the performance boost be huge?

Solution
Several cards have already demonstrated hitting 1500 boost clock.....Asus wasn't one of them.

ASUS has also trimmed the standard 2 x 6-pin PCI-E power connections down to a single 8-pin one, which has an LED to tell you when your cable is correctly connected and working. This design makes cable management easier, but there's a chance it could negatively impact the card's overclocking potential.

You need to tick a check box to go beyond the restraints to OC more. It's on the tuning tab :)

I think you don't have this card. I have this card and it runs fine @ 1535 Mhz without voltage tuning. I don't oc ram but checked up to 400+ offset stable. Checked with Valley, Heaven & Tropics benchmark and AC Unity, Inquisition.
Core: 230+
Memory: 0+
P Limit: 115
T Limit: 80 (never reached 65C+)

How long you have tested with this settings?

I don't know how other people are getting +1500 core clocks with their Strixs since it only has 1 powerconnector.

I have one myselft, ASIC quality 62%, A RM850 PSU on a ROG mobo and I can't get mine further than 1465 core due to the powerphases. Don't get me wrong, I love this card and it's ultra quiet. But it is not the best ocable card and I can't believe that some folks are getting+1500 core due to the powersupply archictecture on the PCB.
