Overclocking the CPU when gaming vs Not Overclocking when gaming.

I watched a youtube video about benchmarking an overclocked i7-6700k and a stock one and the fps was higher on the stock one while the overclocked one at 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 decreased.

So I'm planning on jsut staying on my stock i7-6700k with 2133mhz of ram speed 2x8gb, will that be good enough for gaming?

A stock 6700K is plenty fast. When the CPU is already more than fast enough for the GPU, overclocking won't result in any gains. I didn't watch the video obviously, but maybe the drop was within the margin of the error?

Stock speeds will suffice for the most part. I have my 4690k OC'd as in my sig, if I return to slock clocks I see no difference. I just did it for extra heat and noise really >.< well that and higher benchies.

The graphics card that I will use will be the gtx 1080 and if I can wait it will probably be the RX 490.

As far as we know there wont be any RX490 any time soon. Perhaps a 480XT...
You will gain much more from overclocking your GPU in gaming.

Besides that CPU plus the 1080 is plenty for any gaming.
