Hey guys, was wondering what OC I can expect with good temperatures (I know it depends on chip, but every i7-4770k should have a roughly estimate it can OC to ATLEAST)

i7-4770k
MSI Z87 G45 Gaming
with Noctua NH-D14
OR H100i (its just i prefer Noctua for the silence)

Which cooler do you suggest for OC'ing? (nothing extreme, like 4.2ish GHZ) Am I fine with a Noctua for 4.2ish at good temps or do I need a H100i for this?

Solution
The Noctua NH-D14 actually performs very much the same as an H100i, unless you want to turn the fans up on the H100i, which is really loud.

Anyway, my estimate with that cooler, 4.5GHz.
Unless you had a bad draw on the CPU.

You´d be surprised on how much the chip "quality" spreads in both, thermal output as well as OC-ability at low voltages.

I´d say, 4.2GHz is pretty much guaranteed with every chip. I´d say around 90-95% can reach this is fairly acceptable voltages.
And most higher performing coolers (air and liquid) should be able to handle it.

But above that, it really depends on your draw.

How about the temps, how would they be if I run games, streams and other pages, any idea? Thinking about playing mostly World of Warcraft, whilst streaming and listening to music, skype, facebook, youtube etc?

If it constantly runs around 80C, is it gonna hurt the computer or is it fine to play with these kinds of temps? only been using laptops so

im not certain what you mean..aint very familiar with these terms, stock conditions? i ment, can i run it at 80C safely when running heavy, or can i expect lower temperatures is that what you're saying?

yeah definately, however i havent bought this computer yet, so im wondering whether i can run 4.2 ghz or higher with this cooler at reasonable (acceptable and not very noisy) temperatures, however if i run 80 degrees at 4.2 ghz or higher is this acceptable?

Yes, it is fine.
