I am building a budget(ish) gaming PC that I hope to overclock. I have picked out the intel i5-7600k as my CPU and a Cryorig H7 as my CPU cooler. I am just wondering, will the Cryorig be alright for overclocking maybe to 4.2 or 4.4 GHz? If not, are there any other suggestions you have around that price range that could work?

Thank you, but one more question. How often are you on here. I see you all the time and at the top of the leaderboards.

It still looks like you are number one all time. Do you mean you were #1 monthly for that long straight? That's pretty insane.

Odds are that you can do better.
As of 6/19/17
What percent of samples can get an overclock
at a vcore around 1.4v.
I5-7600K
4.9 72%
5.0 52%
5.1 27%
5.2 16%
5.3 samples exist, unknown % of occurrence

H7 is quite good.
If your case has adequate fresh air intake, You may run out of vcore tolerance before you run into thermal limits.

However, just because you CAN do better, doesn't mean you SHOULD do better. The closer you get to vcore tolerance the more likely you are to increasingly reduce your CPU life expectancy. Not that it's necessarily a deal breaker though. If you are the type to replace your core components every couple of years, then it may not be a big deal to you.

If you want to get 5 or more years out of them though, you may be best served by staying in the 4.5Ghz or less side of the road, as you had planned. I'd think a full time 4.4Ghz OC should serve you pretty well. My 4.5Ghz 6700k gives me all I need even in gaming and with the handful of professional apps I run. Yours should be much the same as not much has changed aside from a few optimizations.

Sounds great, thanks!
