Overheating but pc doesn't turn itself off

Hi
I was checking my cpu temperature with Speccy and i saw that when under load (playing games) the cpu temp was 100ºC. i also checked with HWMonitor and Speedfan and saw the same temp. I was wondering why my pc doesn't turn itself off under those temperatures, i even waited a few minutes under that condition but nothing happend.
so, my question is that is there a chance that the heat sensor is wrong? or it should not shut down in 100 degrees

the temps in bios are around 50, HWMonitor show the idle temp around 40-50

Maybe I'll annoy you but I wanna make an idea of your problem
Have you got an aftermarket cooler or stock?
Is your system overclocked?

please, it's no annoyance, i should have put all of those information in the main post
it's the stock cooler and not overclocked, the first time i put it on the cpu myself, after seeing the overheating problem i gave it to a repairman to see what the problem is. he said that i had an overheating problem and he fixed it. when i tested it in home and saw the high temp i called him and asked what was going on, he said that he fixed it and i shouldn't worry about the temps that i'm seeing, when i asked what did he used to see the cpu temp, he said something called MR which is apparently some PCI card (is there even anything like that?). he said to see if it crashes under load, i tested it and said it doesn't, he said to not worry about it.
now i'm not sure that if i was just scammed or not (i probably was), i'm gonna take my pc to another repairman tommorow.
Any help would be appreciated

If your room is hot then your CPU idle temp will run high. If it is not, then check to see if your stock cooler is seated properly. You should try to remove it and put it back, make sure thermal paste is evenly spread on the heat sink and CPU. Your MB don't even have PCI card support. Before waste money on another repairman, buy an aftermarket cooler like hyper 212 evo or similar at your local store like Best Buy selling for $35. Your problem is most likely around CPU cooling issue itself and nothing else.

actually because of the country that i live in (iran), a repairman is way cheaper than an after market fan, with the money i spent on the repairman i could only buy deepcool fans (they're cheap here, still it's actually more than what the repairman costs). i could afford the GAMMAXX 300 deepcool fan, or some other deepcool fan around that price.
so because of that, i thought i should go to another repairman first.
my idle temp isn't really the issue here, the gaming temps are.

OK the idle temps seem ok, considering you're living in a warm environment and using the stock cooler
another thing you need to consider is the airflow inside your case.

You might adjust the fans profile with H/W Monitoring, your motherboard should have this features:

System voltage detection
CPU/System/Chipset temperature detection
CPU/CPU OPT/System fan speed detection
CPU/System overheating warning
CPU/CPU OPT/System fan fail warning
CPU/CPU OPT/System fan speed control

If I were you I'd save some money and buy an after market cooler its a good investment for your system. Now regarding gaming in the meanwhile you can try to set the physx settings to be used only by your GPU (for example in my nvidia panel I can set physx settings to be used by CPU, GPU or Auto) see if your GPU has this settings.

I'm gonna add my two cents to this . I live in sri lanka, where the ambient temps are around 27 - 30C on a normal day, so it is comparable to Iran ( If anything, Iran may be even hotter.). I have an i3 4130 in my fairly well ventilated CM elite 311 (cheapo case, I know, but it does have a large vent on the front for intake.) with one exhaust rear case fan and the stock intel cooler. At full load, my CPU temp averages around 80-85C, so I'm guessing that for an i5 in a similar situation 100C is normal. However, I think the reason that your system doesn't automatically shutdown is because the CPU may be underclocking itself to reduce temps. Not really sure though. As mentioned before, your best bet is to go for after market cooler.

so apparently the repairsman didn't even had the decency to clean the thermal paste and reapply it (which was the only thing i asked him to do, i thought that would fix it)
today i got some new thermal paste (ThermalRight Chill Factor III) because the only one that the stores near me got was some no brand cheap paste. i cleaned the old thermal paste and put the new thermal paste on.
first temp that was different was the temp that was visible in BIOS (which had become 31, the old temp was 50).
the idle temp that HWMonitor showed was around 9 degrees lower than before (from 42 to 33, or something like that)
but the most important change was the gaming temp, which had a giant fall from around 100 to around 55-58 (max is 71, but i only tested around 5 mins. the game that i used for testing was dying light).
again, thank you all, i just wanted to update this so it tells the complete story.
i will probably pick up some after market cooler later, but it's not really at the top of my list right now.

also, the Coolingsys website doesn't seem to have any cooling systems (it says no product), i use lioncomputer for my computer needs in iran

tested again with ac:rogue for around 1 hour, the max temp was 60, the average was around 44-50

I'm glad you find a way to cool it down, record the temps you are getting now wait couple of weeks until the paste settles and solidifies and look at the temps again see if there is any difference.

P.S You still need to get a cooler
