I have two partitions, one with Vista on it and one with Windows 7 on it. I want to overwrite the Vista partition with Ubuntu, is this possible without interfering with the Windows 7 partition?

On My Computer it shows that C: is a system partion and D: Data.

The dual boot currently offers vista and 7 on start up.

Would like to try Ubuntu as I never use Vista at all, obviously.

Solution

it will not be a problem.. ubuntu will rewrite the bootloader and will allow windows 7 to boot up.

however go for a live demo of ubuntu if you just wana try it.
