Also, if you're worried about power consumption, then you could look at the Samsung 830 SSDs.

When the average datacentre drive shelf draws 400 watts before the drives are dropped in and 950W fully loaded with spinning media, power consumption isn't that much of an issue (except for minimising the load on AC)

Regardless, surely you realize that there is a huge difference in cost between 2TB of HDD storage and 2TB of SSD storage regardless of the performance of the SSD.

That difference is changing every day.

I've been around long enough to have paid thousands of dollars for
10Mb drives and the same for 1Mb of memory - one thing which is clear is "never say never" (and never bother waiting for the 'next big thing' in storage, It'll turn up when it's ready).
