P28F005 disk drive

I am searching for a disk drive for this laptop and have looked everywhere from ebay to even talking straight to sell. Anyone have any ideas on where I can find it.

You need a new hard drive for it, or a new optical drive?

Does your Dell have a bay for an internal optical drive?
You want to replace one that's broken?

it has a spot for it but there isn't one there.

Unfortunately there is usually no connector-interface at the back of the empty slot in your laptop for an optical drive. It's just an empty slot with a blanking plate on the outside - - no connectors inside the slot. Remove the blanking plate to check just in case I'm wrong.

If there is no connection-interface at far end of the slot, you'll have to buy an external optical drive which plugs in to a USB port.

oh I see there is just the cover missing for it not an actual disk drive. thank you
