I missed that in your previous post. That is the same RAM that I used in the bench with the opt. def. in my previous post. It is 100% compatible. They must have added those additional entries to the SPD. I have to tell you, I am at a loss. The opt def should give you the speeds I got in my post. I can't imagine that you have two bad boards in a row, but I don't know what else it could be. Your temps are not the problem and clicking on opt. def. clears any settings questions. You are not crashing, which makes a bad PSU unlikely. Just for grins, unplug any non essential parts including the HD and one stick of RAM, set to opt def, boot to UBCD and run the memtest86 again. That probably won't have any effect, but I honestly can't think of anything else. I guess RMA the mobo. Maybe someone else has an idea.

Thanks Zorg for the advice :)

Yup looking like I'll have to Rma this one. The first board arrived with a bad sound chip which caused me all sorts of problems. So I returned it to the vendor and got this board in replacement. Been over a month now, so I guess i'll have to return this one to gigabyte.

Just annoying to be down a board for 2 weeks, and then again for 2 weeks. Especially right in the middle of the busy part of the year for all the good games lol :)

I got three with no problems, this is the second DQ6 mobo that I have seen that is bad. I must have gotten lucky.

I think I got lucky to. I did notice someone say to test the memory sticks by them selves though,,,,, You should be testing them by them selves. I will add this as well though, The boards settings were all out of whack even with me having the f6. I seriously think you should update to the beta bios. I mean what is it going to hurt at this point if testing a stick at a time shows no errors. If that doesn't fix it RMA it then as you will have tried everything ya know. I already proved that they fixed alot of memory setting issues by showing pictures of the new one and explaining what all has changed memory wise. Maybe that will fix the issue. For the person that said wow you memory is running at 1182~, I have ddr2 1066 tracer memory. It can handle it at stock voltages I just gave it an extra .05 for the hell of it.

You're killing me. First, he tested his RAM in a similar Gigabyte mobo. He also tested their ram in his mobo. He posted his timings as displayed in CPU-Z. The timings are correct, which is more than I can say about your timings.

I fixed my timings and appologized for being wrong. Easy there guy geez. lmao. I posted pictures showing memset which shows that I fixed my setting that was off my bad geez.. It's not like I'm a complete idiot here you know everyone makes mistakes. I'm sure you are not perfect either. So quit acting like you are god or something man.

Hey Guys,

Just for a laugh at this point, a friend of mine said I should try using Everest to see what my scores were with that. So I grabbed a copy and tested, and posting the bench test results here .....

I talked with gigabyte and they are pretty much giving me a 4 to 6 week turn about on getting a replacement. Assuming they agree its faulty. At this point , to he honest I've had enough. So I was thinking of just getting a new board, and getting this gigabyte one repaired and maybe use it as a spare. So that said, can anyone suggest a good solid to me ? :) I've basically used gigabyte for 6 years now, so not really sure who else to give a go.

Yah that is pretty bad looking bandwith I must admit. I'm sorry that we couldn't actually help you as it appears to be a flawed board. I would go with the Abit I-Pro I believe it is,,, I know that the board looked good from reviews I seen. I was going to get one but, decided to go with this one instead.

I only have personal experience with the MSI and Gigabyte, and the MSI was old. Maybe you should start a new thread and ask which manufacturer makes the best P35 mobo, to get some opinions.

Recommend Asus P5E:

I didn't like the very basic P5K but I'm sure the Deluxe or Premium are nice mobos.
With the Q6600 you don't even really need the latest 1333 chipset, you could get a real heavy-duty P965 mobo (ie. Asus Commando) for less money.
P35 is going to be just a tiny blip on the radar anyway; I would go P965 or if I wanted the latest stuff I would go X38,
Regards

I would not get the 965. Get the Current Bearlake chipset.
