Guys, I'm looking for a mid-range p45 motherboard - any brand.
All I need is this:
Mature High stability and reliability.
I don't care about performance since they all perform well enough I think.
Not picky about RAM. Can use any brand DDR2 1066 any voltage for example.
Able to use ANY 65nm/45nm C2D or C2Q.
2 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots. (8x * 2 in CF)
6 + 2 SATAII ports.
ICH10R
On board HD audio.
Overclocking - at least good enough for near 500Mhz FSB in small steps.
4 * 4GB slots.
ROCK SOLID BIOS and BIOS UPDATE Utility.
ATX size.
That's about All.
I was thinking of the Asus P5Q Pro - but the RAM compatibility and BIOS updater seem scary.
Ok, thanks!

Ok, might just be a bit lower than mid range, but had the list lying around. fits most of your specs.
in the order of best to, well, not best:

1) Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P
2) MSI P45 Neo2-FR
3) ASUS P5K S/L Crossfire INTEL

have a look and say what u think. hope it helps.

I wouldn't buy the P5K. That's P35, PCI-E 1.0, second slot runs at 4x, horrible in Crossfire.

+1 for the GA-EP45-UD3P.

After reading the comments and reviews, I'm leaning towards the GA-EP45-UD3P.
Ok,
Now, I hope get some info on what is good RAM for THAT paticular mobo.
yes, I can read the RAM support web-site like everyone else. I just don't have a PC shop and actualy saw which RAM works well.
Something with high capacity AND high performance to overclock well.
Something like 2 X 4GB that can reach near 500Mhz and tested by Gigabyte.
If there are no 4GB sticks that can do this, then I'll have to settle for 2 x 2GBs.
I may need a new BIOS flash so the RAM can be recognized.
Thanks !

P.S.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend America - and late Thanksgving wish Canada.

EDIT:
Nevermind about the RAM. I did lots of searching and didn't find a lot of capatibility problems.
