Ok im getting very frustrated now!
I have now done 2 pc's for friends using the above board and on EVERY boot I
get "new cpu installed f1 for setup, f2 for defaults" hitting f2 loads up pc
fine, but this should not be happening!...I have a pc with the same board
and no errors
All pc's are the same inc mine, latest bios, Plextor 712sa burner., p4 3.0
800fsb processor,Barracuda 160gig sata drive, 2x512 crucial memory in dual
linear mode, Radeon 9600se 128meg graphics.
Ive reset cmos, changed battery.
Any ideas please as I have one on my bench at the mo!
Thanks

I would guess this means, the BIOS has looked at the processor
version, attempted to record the info in DMI/ESCD, and failed
to record the info properly. On the next boot, it checks the
info in the DMI/ESCD, and because it didn't get updated the
first time, finds itself in exactly the same situation again.

I don't see an option in the BIOS, to write protect the BIOS
chip, so don't see the BIOS being prevented from updating
the DMI/ESCD from something like that.

Maybe you can escape by changing BIOS versions ?

Is your processor supported here ?
