P4C800e-D won't boot

I get a post message" computer can't find OS' or something close. It will
not boot into windows which is already installed on HD. I turned off RAID
and Promise. The bios is 1016. I have installed 1 gig of ddr pc3200 ram.
I am stumped big time. Help?

More details would help. Did you prep the disks on another interface
or another computer, and then install the disk ? What interfaces are
you currently using for disks. What kind of disks.

This is a list of your motherboard resources:

Look at the storage section, the USB and Firewire sections.
Any of those interfaces could have disks on them. Where did
you put your disks ? For the IDE interfaces, are the disks
jumpered as master or slave.

Giving a complete inventory of the stuff in the computer and
how it is connected, helps us.

Thanks for the reply Paul. By the time I saw this reply I had booted from
the XP CD and repaired the Windows Install on the HD. That fixed it I really

Check that you're actually trying to boot from the drive you think
you're booting from. One of the "F" keys allows you to get up a
one-time boot menu, so you can pick the correct drive from there.

However, if you installed windows with that drive on a different pc,
you'll probably not be very lucky in booting from it.
