I just assembled a system using the P4P800SE, P4 2.8Ghz, 512 DDR, SB
live, and WD 40 GB HD. The HD activity led is flashing very dimly with
no activity and normal brightness with HD activity. I have connected 2
other HDs and another cable with no change. I have no problems with the
computer except for the led flashing all the time after the computer
boots up. The LED is pulsing about every second or so all the time the
computer is on. Never seen nothing like this before.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Robert

A quick search in Google says it is Media Change Notification checking.
Used to find a CD in the CD drive for example.

Google search terms: winxp "once a second"
