P5AD2 Premium Onboard WiFi problem

Hi.

Installs drivers ok. After reboot I get the Wizard and choose the One step
setup. Entering SSID and next and gets the "seting up driver". And thats
where I get. The s"etting up driver" box never disappears.
Tried the advanced options. Ok until I get that same box. Have to reboot and
uninstall. Reboot, install and reboot again to have another try.

Have you tried manually installing the driver ? If you download
http://www.asus.com/pub/ASUS/lan/wifi-g/wifi-g.zip from the Asus
site, there is a folder called "driver" and it has a .inf file
buried in there. If you go to the Device Manager, perhaps you can
tell Windows to use that driver. Once the driver is installed,
perhaps the installer you are using, will get past the point
where it is stuck. (I would still use the installer, because
it could be setting some of the options to different values than
the defaults that come with the driver files from Marvell.)

It could be your install problems are caused by the registry. This
is an example of an old problem, where a registry setting that
prevents updating gets set somehow, and the user has to un-set
it:

I'll try that.

Don't know. I'm getting same error on newly installed Xp. Same with SP1 and
SP2.
