well i updated my nvida drivers and bios (401) and upped the FSB, so now I'm at 3375mhz. Running pime now and will let you know how it does.

Well I RMA'd my motherboard. I got the new one yesterday and hooked everything up, and I'm having the exact same problems as before!

So now I'm going to have to waste more money buying new RAM in the hopes that it will fix this lousy motherboard.

Any suggestions?

Right now I have A-Data DDR2 800

sorry to hear abot the ram problem. I was going to buy a-data ram until I at the last min. went with the g. skill.

My system is doing well and very stable no issues. Running at 3375mhz with my ram at 850mhz. passed double instances of orthos over 24 hours, memtest, and supper pi 32m in 16min 24 sec. I would say i'm pretty happy with the build. Hopefully Asus will come out with some bios updates to help with the memory issues and to make it a little more stable for the over clockers.

I bought the OCZ Platinum Revision 2 PC6400 @ 4-4-4-15 and it worked immediately. I never even updated the Bios. The memory works like a dream and ran it overnight and again the next day in Memtest with 0 errors.

Great motherboard too. Sucks that so many people seem to have some issues.

Well, I'm happy to say that I picked up some Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 (2 x 512) and I haven't had a single problem since.

Hopefully it will stay that way.

I just can't believe how picky this MB is about ram. As far as I can tell with MemTest, there is no problem with my Adata ram, the MB just doesn't like it.

hi, I have to write fast before my system crash ;]

I built my pc week ago, this mobo as in topic, patriot dual 1gb each stick, evga 8800gts 512.

windows mem test showed so many errors that i`m giving it back (RMA as you called it ..) i put right timing but cannot put right voltage , no option like this / i have up to date bios an chipset drivers and so on ...

how can i change voltage ?

hdd is ok , mobo and power unit, graph card i think too
tried prime95 torture test and it crashed imediatly on ram tests, cpu is ok ...

during crysis i got msgbox like " flow graph discarded" crysis.exe error , many freezes , blue screens, but i hope that is only memory issue ...

i guess so because i tried to reinstal windows xp and the same as before.. but nearly EVERY single aplication that was used could be found i win debuger crash minidump. Software can couse serious errors if mem i broken so that they cannot work properly and crashes... am I right ?

i hope it is only mem errors ... my graph card got nearly 11000 in 3d mark 2006 test. so its ok i suppose. How can i change the voltage ... even google said to me "stfu"...

Thank you in advance.

mem should work fine with mobo,

and one more thing ... patriots --> PATRIOT DDR2 2048 MB / 800 (Dual 2 x 1024 MB), CL 4, SLI Ready ( PDC22G6400LLK )

were not packed in special plastic bag as mobo but i see that every patriot mems are packed in the same way arround my place ...

change voltage not more than 2,2 V and it works, even mem test from everest I`ll continue tryin....

Hi guys.

I recently completed my build, Thermaltake WingRS 100 case,
P5N-E SLI MB, E6300 dual core "conroe" 1.86ghz OC to 2.65ghz,
5:4 ratio, 4gig OCZ-6400 SLI ram, Thermaltake Max Orb CPU cooler,
stock NB cooler, Vantec Iceberq Copper chipset fan on SB,
seagate 320Gb 7200, XFX 8600 GT, VIXX pure tv tuner card,
ZONET wifi 54mb/s wireless card, DVD ±RW, 16X dual layer,
running vista 32-bit.

v-core at 3.8v and mem 1.86v
CPU temp 35-40c
MB temp 38c
I haven't played around with ram timings yet. Any suggestions?

Yesterday I boot up my comp and wireless card was not working, no hardline connect, so no internet. : ( Checked hardware manager, sd that card is installed, driver installed but sz "card not able to start", tried putting in 2cd pci slot, same thing. I figured probably the card, so I went to tigerdirect, picked up same card, same thing. tried both slots again to no avail. Thought it might me MB but it recognizes that the card is installed and and recognizes manufacturer and installs drivers. ????????? Please help.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thx

This motherboard has issues with some basic memory on auto settings that prevent dual channel or more than one stick from working without hangs when booting into windows.

To solve this set up your memory using manual settings in the m/b bios:

TCL; 5
TRCD; 5
TRP; 5
TRAS; 12
COMMAND PER CLOCK; 2
TRC; 23

SLI READY: Disabled
MEMORY VOLTAGE: 1.9v

For overclocking or performance memory try with the fsb/mem divider set to sync or 1:1

TCL; 4
TRCD; 4
TRP; 4
TRAS; 12
COMMAND PER CLOCK; 2
TRC; 22
(RFC should be tRC + 2.)

MEMORY VOLTAGE: 2.1v

Hi silentbob

I had a similar problem with my setup - very quick fix, its a setting in your bios.

I have a q6600 2.40 , 4gb ddr2 667

i could install xp, but not vista / 7, would bsod all the time, i had to lower my FSB of my CPU until vista was installed, i then figuerd it out, enable thermal support in your bios, enable C1E enhanced support (if your cpu supports this)

then finally, look for the ai overclocking menu, go into there and set that to auto. or none... (id say set it to none for now) reboot a couple of times to see if the bios has set the settings and is using them, check temps now in bios and it should not exceed 45 - 50 degress, if it hits 65 in the bios then it will cut power off

took me a week of messing about with this boards settings until it was stable, main reason it took me that long is becuase i didnt do the build, it was built a year ago then i purchased it off my uncle as he has moved to mac, reason i didnt have a pc before was becuase it got in the way of the misses lol, well she's long gone and im back on the scene, couldnt afford a build from scratch so bought this one and when ran into problems, i re-built it and sorted my issues out, not bad to say ive been out of the game for 3 - 4yrs.

let me know how you got on
