Hello guys.
I have Asus P8B75-M and wondering if it supports ECC memory and xeon's CPU?

Also, how i understand from user manual - maximum size of memory i can put in 1 DIMM slot = 8GB. I can't put 2x16gb for example in the board, correct?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Solution
It does not support ECC memory.

4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2200(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture

It supports the following Xeon processors.

Intel Xeon E3-1230 (3.2G,1333,L3:8MB,4C,D2)ALL0602GO*Since Xeon CPU is not desktop CPU model, some feature may not able to work on this combination. For detail, refer to support.asus.com
Intel Xeon E3-1230 v2 (3.3G,L3:8M,4C,HT,69W)ALL0602GO*Since Xeon CPU is not desktop CPU model, some feature may not able to work on this combination. For detail, refer to support.asus.com
Intel Xeon E3-1245 v2 (3.4G,L3:8M,4C,HT,77W)
It does not support ECC memory.

Thanks for your response.
The maximum RAM for this MB 32GB. But i don't understand if i can put 2x16gb or the maximum size in 1 DIMM 8gb and i can do only 4x8gb. Could you please clarify it?

Also, the follow up question - what is the best choise of CPU for this MB? Since it's doesn't support overclocking, i stick with the i7 3770 but i'm not sure. Maybe you can suggest something better in price=value ration?
Thanks for your help.

You may install 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB unbuffered non-ECC DDR3 DIMMs into the DIMM sockets.

So it will not support 16GB DIMMs, which makes sense, since they didn't even have them back then for consumer motherboards.

Your best bet is probably finding a good used 3770, 3770k or E3-1245 v2, all of which are pretty close in terms of performance and cache. The 3770 and 3770k have a 100mhz higher boost frequency than the Xeon but you may be able to find the Xeon more easily and for less money. Any of the three would be a good choice for that board.

Got it.
