Hello Tom's Hardware, I ran into a minor(?) problem with virtual memory. So a few days ago, i ran dxdiag test to see how my laptop is doing. But I was greeted with "Page File: 6974MB used, 9451MB available" on dxdiag, while my actual page file size (if going by pagefile.sys) is ~2.16GB. I have attached my DxDiag.txt results just in case.

(My HDD is a 512GB SSD)

Is this an indication of a problem? What should I do?

My DXDiag total shows 6433 used, 26275 free - 32708
My Task manager/Performance Memory tab shows Committed = 6.4 /31.9 which is pretty much agreeing with top line
My Sysinfo shows Page file of 16gb. Difference is my ram which is also 16gb

Your dxdiag adds up to 16gb, it should be double that.

what is showing in your committed line on Task Manager/performance ram tab?

Your page file size should be = ram, if you only have 16gb of ram there is no point having a bigger page file.

Committed in Task Manager shows "5.9/16.0GB", so it seems that it agrees with my top line as well

Is this a bad sign?

On a regular basis, how much ram would you use? Are you ever in a situation where you are low on ram?
reason I ask is win 10 will only use page file if it really needs to, and if it's only using 16gb now and you have it set to 21, it is not a big deal.

It is curious for sure, but I don't think its a bad sign

is your page file set to auto?

I rarely look at performance monitor but I usually use up to 10GB of RAM when i'm working (i am a graphic designer), the maximum number of usage I got was 13GB (with both Photoshop and Illustrator, with a large-sized AI file open)

Sometimes I play games too but games usually use up to ~5GB of RAM. As in a low RAM situation, I haven't encountered issues like that so far. Also yes, my page file is set to Auto in Advanced System Settings > Virtual Memory
