Most of the 3rd party program will crash sooner or later. I'm using the windows one never had a prob with it. It may not be the best but at least it doesnt crash
often old network drivers cause virus scanners to bugcheck.
go to your motherboard vendors website and update your Ethernet drivers and reboot.
(ethernet = LAN, wired ethernet, wireless ethernet or sometimes bluetooth wireless)
if you have a USB wireless card you might have to update your BIOS, USB 3.0 driver and your CPU chipset drivers to get USB 2.0 updates before your usb wireless card will work correctly.

Mcafee said this is a known error that happened when they updated this week. Said a week from tomorrow the update should be fixed to try and re download then.
My solution was to use system restore to roll back to the last working version on McAfee. McAfee seem to have removed the offending update so it hasn't reupdated.
I've also installed all optional drivers in windows update.
All above posts are accurate. Was on with mcafee for three hours tonight. The latest update had a corrupted file. They are working on a fix but it will be a few days. I deleted mcafee completely and the mcafee people decided with me to not re download and execute any version of mcafee until this fix is complete. Computer works fine obviously susceptible hoping windows defender and spy hunter will prevent malware and shithead hackers until mcafee is back up and running. No blue screen of death or error message though after u installing mcafee.
I also had the same problem. I uninstalled Mcafee and no more BSOD. Thank god I found this website as I've been dealing with this problem for over 2 weeks!
