I'm back with more game questions. Did you guys who played the PC version of
Painkiller have any luck getting to the "holy items" and other secrets?
I've read part of a walkthrough after trying to reach some of these things
and most require jumping. It mentions that repeately hitting the jump button
make the character jump higher and higher. I am not having much luck with
this. For instace, pretty early in the first level there's a secret area
under a bridge. I can get to it but can't get back out. Moist I simply can't
get to.Thanks

Some guy taught me this in PK Deathmatch the other day.
It's like bunnyhopping, but you don't need to strafe. Just jump along in
a straight line, and your jumps get higher.

Hmm. Doesn't seem to work in the Gold PC version. Or maybe they got rid of
this feature in v 1.62?

You are not alone. The "secrets" feature seems to have been added as a
distinct afterthought and not tested....or the "tester" forgot he/she
was in God-mode :-(

Good game-play principles dictate that all secrets in a level should
be accessible with the "tools" currently-available to the player.
Doesn't work out that way in Painkiller.

Don't worry, be happy... and enjoy the rest of the game.

Ive had the original PAINKILLER since it came out....installed to a folder
"e:\games3\painkiller".....a while back I changed my Hard discs and all the
drv. letters got moved as they do ...I copied PAINKILLER to someother
location rather than bothering to re-install it....works lovely ....
NOW !....
Ive just got the "BATTLE OUT OF HELL" add-on ...installed it expecting to be
asked where the main game was at so it would go in along and over the
original.......no!!.. it BOOH installed to "e:\games3\painkiller".....which
no longer existed so it created it and put a fully working stand-alone
version of BOOH there ....my someplace-else org. PK folder untouched ....
My question;
Is this right ? two entirely separate games ?? ..I thought the add-on pack
might add new features / graphics to the org. ....dont want to go through
all the installing again ...might mess up org.s gamesaves ...should BOOH
just be copied straight over the main game folder....replacing any existing
files ????

Whatever ...looks like BOOT could be set up standalone even if u dont have
the orginal..

I was in the older version (Forget the number, 1.3something?) because
1.62 doesn't work with my 3D glasses.

I guess it looked in the registry (where Windows keeps all the info about
installed programs) to find out where Painkiller was installed, and found
something saying it was on the e: drive, so installed it there straight
away.
Maybe when BOOH starts up it does its own check for where the original is
installed, finds it in its new location, and uses whatever it has to from
there... do both the original and BOOH work fine like they are?
You'll probably have some problems if you try to uninstall the original, cos
it'll try to uninstall it from the e: drive.

yes, painkiller black edition in europe and gold edition in
the us is a MUST BUY!
even if you have the first painkiller edition and also the
expansion even so painkiller gold/black has to be added to
your own collection

like i promised i ended up doing a full report of the black
edition package but never posted cause it coincided with me
leaving my previous news server... an unfortunate event

you don't have the money? you must be kidding us!
how many pc games did you bought since the beginning of the
year?
if you have budget limitation which is perfectly normal are
you cutting costs in your daily life so you can save extra
cash for your main hobby?
cut costs on liquor, smoke, women and all those unhealthy
activities but do invest in pc games

obviously! what do you think i am? I'M A TRUE PC GAMER!

i'm a very strong pc game promoter and defender but i'm not
perfect and finding secrets and jumping is not something i
am good at

> How to install the expansion pack when the original game

that is an excuse to piracy and this group does not tolerate
any kind of piracy!

I can verify that all the secrets that are required to get tarot cards are
gettable. Possibly the worst required secret is the one in city by the sea
where you have to jump across a large gap between two buildings. This secret
requires the double speed card to do and maybe an hour of your time ;^)

yes i can but its not cause you want to know what gameplay
painkiller has cause you know very well its not stealth or
tactical the way you like, but even so its a MUST BUY ALSO
FOR YOU!
so buy painkiller black edition now!
see if buying deus ex 2 and painkiller in the same order can
give you some kind of discount

none? zero? nothing at all? ... man this is a true shocker!
i'm extremely disappointed!

you have much buying to do before gaining again the respect
from us!

giving preference to photography and neglecting pc games...
shame on you!

if olddog would be among us he would warn you about all those
chemicals photography uses which damage so much the environment
and this time he would be right!

> He actually said that he installed it from his legit purchase

i didn't read that!
if he owns a original version of painkiller and booh then
i don't have any problem apologizing cause i was wrong and
also helping him in anything he needs with the game but i
didn't read anything which stated he had bought those games

this group doesn't tolerate any form or piracy. PERIOD.

Steam-infected money? I make no money from steam.

I'm not trying to silence you. I said I would pay you for talking about a
game you claim to have played.
