Hi!

I have a S21 Ultra here which takes pretty good 108mp photos compared to my older phones. Had never really tried to open them on my computer before. But today i did and paint just won't open them. It says ''Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file or its format is not currently supported''

I then take the same picture without the 108MP resolution and it can open it just fine. I'd really like to keep the quality of my photos at the highest possible if it is possible.

Is there any workaround this? I tried to find an online solution that sent me to the registry in the Windows Photo Gallery Viewer file but i can't find it in the registry. It's like this was meant for windows 10 and not 11 or something. Then i found a solution that was asking me to install some files in the registry but i didn't feel safe doing this at all (messing something up or ending up with a virus or something).

Thanks a lot folks.

May i know the other low cost application you speak of if you don't mind? Thank you!
My main image editor is PaintShop Pro.

Have used it in ensuing versions for over 20 years.

Frequently, there will be large discounts on various packages.

Wow i remember using PaintShop Pro in the early 90s, didn't know it was still going!

Also, i do not see any tick on the right side of the answer i'd like to choose as best, not sure how to do it?

If you open a file with irfanview it tells you how much ram it uses to show it, open one of the smaller files that do open and tell us how much those use.
Weird enough when i try to open it, it uses the multimedia irfanview viewer like it's a movie 🤔
But it isn't, it's just a 25MB .JPG
