Pair an old xeon i found with a gtx 1070ti?

My brother in law found this old xeon E3-1240 v2 at his workplace and gave it to me with the motherboard. Now i want to build a good gaming pc that would play recent games at decent framerates so i was thinking if i can pair this with a gtx 1070ti. Now that i have a processor+mobo, so much of my pc building cost is reduced. Would this work compatibility wise?

It would perform about like a 2600K, as is essentially the same CPU.....; that being said, the 2600K -equivalent is lagging behind by 20-30% at 1080P, so, but still does darn well well at 4K...
