heh .. just like the subject shows

Will new Palomino processors be compatible with Asus A7M266 motherboard ?
anyone possessin such knowledge will get 5 merit points :)

I don't think anyone will know this officially. AMD has not even released specs on the damn thing yet. It is supposed to be just an upgraded TBird Core with better cooling properties as well, which would lead one to believe that it will work in existing boards. One thing I would expect to see AMD do is make the CPU 133mhz FSB only, since all mobos only have a max of 12.5 multipliers on them, which means only 133mhz capable chipsets only, and I would expect them to remove the L1 bridges from the CPU tightening up on all the overclocking by allowing us only to change the FSB as we do on Intel CPU's for overclocking.
