Good review. I'd like to see DB readings as well to compare. I heard the pump on the H50 has an annoying quality to the sound. I would have loved to see a high rpm fan inverted on the H50. I'd like to have it hooked to the MB to lower rpms for everyday, and then raise for benching and gameing. I still like the vaule of the Domino. The display is nice, but I wonder how friendly it would play with a different fan.

Exactly! If the authors *must* stick to a kit they should at least include a "real" kit such as the one I listed before (Swiftech Apex).

I recently purchased and installed the H50 and find it to be outstanding.

The install required the removal of my MB to mount a bracket on the back-side and a bracket on the front-side of the motherboard. The 120mm fan and radiator install rather easily and the CPU attachment installs very easily. Total install time was around 1 hour - I take my time and ensure I don't mess anything up.

The install guide recommended that the airflow be directed IN not out. I read another review of this unit and the reviewer tried it both ways and found the temp difference about 2-5C warmer when airflow is directed OUT. My case has a 80mm side port fan that directs air in adjacent/next to the radiator, so I chose to direct air OUT, not in as directed. My choice is based on my desire to not have warm air blowing against my leg or out the front of the case.

My specs:
i7 920 OC'd to 3.2GHz
eVga X58 SLI LE

Idle temps: 20-25C
Load temps: 45-51C (Using Prime 95 blend)

My stock Intel HSF:
Idle temps: 45-50C
Load temps: 65-75C

The unit is totally quiet and I'm amazed at how well it cools. Very satisfied and it is totally worth the money.

I went with the h50 on my i7 920 oc'ed to 3.4Ghz at stock voltages. The included fan is inaudible and very low flow. I used it for exhaust and then just put the fan I had on the back and bolted it on the other side of the cooler to push/pull. I played Crysis last night and the cpu hit 27C. I must also add that this was the easiest install of an after market cooler I've ever had. It took 6 minutes to install and have it back up and running.

Use the same fan dude, this article compares an inaudible fan with a blender. The inaudible fan is up to the task of cooling an i7 at 3.4 though.

I can't even hear the pump on the h50. The one in question must be broken. I can only tell if its on by feeling the outbound pipe get hot.

The Corsair H50 fan is quiet, not inaudible, but normal people will probably need to be around 2 feet away or closer to hear it over normal background noise in a semi-quiet room. The pump is almost as noisy as the fan, but paired together most people probably won't notice one over the other, or even hear the combo over other noises in the room once the cooler is installed in the back of a case.

But the CoGage True Spirit cools as well, and is even a little quieter. Normal people in normal rooms will have to sit very close to both of them to hear the difference.

I have the Corsair H50. The stock fan is really quiet. I added a CoolerMaster 2000 RPM fan in front of the radiator to help pull air. I think it helps a little. I did notice a couple degrees difference. I will try to swap out the stock fan for another CoolerMaster Fan and see if that makes a difference. I doubt it though. Then I will switch thermal paste. I had a bad feeling about it when I installed it. Hopefully CoolerMaster TF-400 will make a difference.

I love Corsair but this product is lacking some pizaz I feel. I think it's great that it offers the performance that we all need. The main problem I have (and its probably just me griping about an otherwise solid product) is the lack of clear tubing and or reactive colored coolent. I like the price a lot so I will probably buckle down and buy it, but I sure wish it had the cool colors like the other H20 solutions have. Its easier to access this setup than traditional pump+rad+block setups, so credit is deserved to Corsair.

I found that the H70 works great if you can get it to fit. I have a full sized Cosmos Cooler Master and I couldn't get it to fit with both fans. Even with a single fan it was tight. I decided to go with the H50 and upgrade the fan to a 3,000 RPM Ultra-K and it works almost as good. Temps are about 2-3 C higher.
