The asking prices are all over the place, but the actual sold prices are a little more steady.

On a good day, you can see the high $300's (is $370-$385), and on a bad day, right around $300. The "average", common price for a used Zotac 980TI is about $340-$350. (even though it's essentially brand new, for the purposes of selling, it's still used).

So, $340 would be my best estimate.

That's more or less along the lines of what I was thinking.

Do you think it would be a substantial upgrade and worth the few hundred dollars to upgrade to the 1080ti, or just sit on the 980ti for a bit longer until the next generation of cards release?

Edit: Also have a 5820k - it won't bottleneck at all, right?

The 5820K should pair with even a 1080TI pretty nicely.

As for the upgrade, it really depends. What resolution do you play at? If 1080p, then needless to say the 1080TI would be wasted.
Even at 1440p a TI is probably a little overkill, with a 1080 likely being more than sufficient.

Hard to say for sure. There's definitely a sizeable improvement in a 1080TI vs 980TI.
