Ok guys, I've tested both as All-In-One: a single-slot cooling solution in low-profile format:

Low-Profile.jpg

Again an AMD cooler (from an older single slot and low-profile workstation card)

Someone interested in how it works ? If yes, we can think about another short story :)
Simply let me know...

Sweet mother of mercy, I can't think of a HTPC that wouldn't want that setup.

Ok, but Chris must finally agree for this - he is the boss here. I'll make the story 100% for the German site in the next few days.

Let's play Mythbusters 😀

How are the temps with the single slot cooler?

Usable. You can make the cooler a little bit quieter (fan speed) to let the card run into the 80 temperature target.
My small cooler is not optimal (too short) but Nvidias boost is the perfect thing to make all this really easy.
A little bit less boost, but the card runs stable :)

May bee you can lost 2-3% gaming performance, but this is a joke.

You used scissors, man why not the hammer!

The real problem is that the placement of AMD chip on the board, vs Nvidia has that cooler taller by like a .25in.

There's been the PowerColor 7850 SCS3 1GB Passive Video Card. Sure it had used more power, but even then it could be maintained, working fine with a little air movement... which would help this also. But yes I can't see why Nvidia's AFT/AIB not getting into this, although the only Nvidia AIB that has been for-fount in passive is I believe Gainwood?

I have this PowerColor 7850 SCS3 in my archive - this card is not optimal (in my eyes). You need a nice airflow to cool down this GPU and the VRMs on my cards are always above 115°C after a longer gaming turn (measured with a good IR thermometer, the GPU-Z values are crap). The problem of the SCS3 are the large cooler - difficult to place it in a smaller case - and the high temperatures. I had to replace the first defective cap after 2 months of usage, other users reported similar problems.

Again - the temp target is a very good help to handle smaller cooling solutions without overheating. Gainward will not release a passive one but I heard that Palit (the mother company) will lauch a passive 750 soon.

This is interesting but what I really want is the single slot cooler FormatC!I just can't seem to find a single slot solution to go on it. Any one know? Please respond.

If you need a single slot you have to solve the problem by yourself at this time. I've build a single slot card (photo above) and it is really usable. Take simply a similar small cooler from an older AMD card and it works 😉

I realize this. I was mostly joking with the "please respond"... pretty sure its a meme. Scouring the net has resulted in no solutions and I guess I'll just wait for EVGA to save me(there's a rumor of a single slot 750 from evga) because I'm too lazy to figure it out myself 8)
