Hello

I am not sure if this is an Outlook or a general Windows XP problem.

If I go into Control Panel, double click on Mail and enter an account I I
click 'Remember password' but it never does -
and I have to keep re-entering it.

I am running Outlook 2000 on Windows XP (currently with no service pack).

This is a clean install of XP! Actually a complete reformat and restore on
an HP Pavilion.

Anyone any ideas how to fix this?

Did you check to see if the service "security accounts manager" is
running? If not start it. Also "crytographic" service should be running
along with "security center".
