[SOLVED] Paste on my CPU

So I overspent on applying my paste due to a distraction.

Decided I was on too short a timeframe (decided to repaste right before work!!) to fix it.

Put everything back together.

No visual output at all.

Upon getting back I’ve obviously realised too much paste then seen it’s in the pins and into the socket.

Wut do now??

The mobo is an Asrock FM2A75DGS. Could simply get a replacemt and another CPU (very lazy and fed up now).

Will add picture in a few hours when I can face it again.

Well even rubbing alcohol and Q-tips can't save the socket and the thermal paste from those holes.

Try 91% alcohol and a toothbrush, to clean it out. Might need to use a can of air too.

I didn’t get any rubbing alcohol. Apparently the ‘oil capital of europe’ has No stock of anything outside of ‘normal people’ needs. How very vanilla.

I used some screen wipes and the toothbrush and it worked. Happy days!
