Patch 1.61b - Now Freezes

I was previously running Battlefield 1942 and all addons
(the Anthology pack) which I believe was patched to
1.6. I ran the patch battlefield_1942_incremental_patch_v1.6_to_v1.61b.exe -
now when I try to access an internet game, the game freezes;
the music still plays, but I'm unable to do anything except
reboot. I'm running XP SP1 - any ideas?

Seemed like punkbuster caused alot of problems. You try updating that?

I tried manually updating it without any success. I guess an
uninstall/reinstall
in in order. If anyone else has seen this problem, please respond,
