Talking about low cost NVMe ssd, the Intel 600P may cost 40% lower than the 950 Pro, but it's also 40% slower than 950 Pro. Also, how many NVMe drives do u have on a Z170 motherboard, and how many NVMe drives do u have an X99 Motherboard? How many apps and games con u store on a NVMe drive?...

So...one day soon, the manufacturers will realize the lower cost of manufacturing only M.2 ssd drives and then selling SATA adapters to those who need it. Supporting old technology should be on the backs of those who still need old technology, not on those who move to the new standard. The biggest issue I can see with M.2 is that most mainboards/notebooks only have one slot. We are going back to the one slot, one drive model.
